From Jack’s adopter…

So Many Thanks for EVERYTHING!!!!! Cannot thank you enough with words or gestures so I hope you all know how I feel.

Have to give you a quick update:

Jack rode home beautifully lying very quietly near Brennan. Brennan was concerned that we were leaving Jack in the car alone while we got some dinner. He strongly suggested "dash board dining" so Jack wouldn't be scared but Mom's favorite Diner was a necessary break to keep her awake for the long drive. I don't think Jack complained too much because he found the last piece of apple strudel and ate it while we were in the Diner!

Brennan fell asleep at 8 so Jack and I visited for the remaining 3 hours. Where he was lying I could stroke his head and ears safely while driving so all was well. We hit some snowy weather about 2 hours before we got home but nothing too bad. At 11 pm we pulled into our driveway and a VERY interesting turn to this whole story took place.

I went into the house to sprint to the bathroom and say a proper "hello" to Connor and Molly before sequestering them to the bathroom. And while I was gone, it happened. I don't know how, but it did. Tim must have said some magical words because when I came back out and took Jack out of the car, Tim said "hello" and Jack gave the BIGGEST full body tail wag I have seen since meeting him. On a scale of 1 to 10 this was like a 25! Tim bent down to see him and got a WHOLE face licking and there was a whole lot more smiling too. Now this is a wonderful thing because Tim does not always get to have "his" dog so if this is the route Jack is taking, it is more than fine. I am more than just a little bit jealous, but it is his choice.

Well, next we introduce Molly to Jack. NO big deal. Molly said hi Jack, I'm the boss, and Jack said, that's fine with me and they have been fine ever since. Jack and Connor was a similar situation, Connor said hi Jack, I want to be above you, Jack said no big deal for now and they have been fine too. We haven't all had physical play together yet but we are getting there and other than occasionally yapping from Molly, all is well.

Jack slept soundly in his crate and we all woke up at 6:30. Tim got up to take the dogs out and I heard him whispering sweet nothings to Jack as he took him out of his crate. This is from a big man who is not always a morning person. I was more than curious to see what was happening so I got out of bed and watched the 3 dogs and Tim out the window. I could see all three dogs running in the dog fence together having a great time. When they came back in, all 3 dogs were on the bed. Jack is SUCH a Love Bug. He lies ON you with one leg on each side like a big hug and he licks your whole face. I witnessed this several times as his favorite target is TIM!! OK, now, no offense but this is getting ridiculous. This is supposed to be MY dog!

Since then Jack comfortable lies on TIM's Feet, responds to TIM first and get this, when Tim pulls out of the driveway, Jack runs to the back door and jumps up to look for TIM out the window. Now this is definitely NOT what I bargained for so I may still be on the lookout for MY Agility dog at some point!!!! Zaz is definitely at the top of the Most Wanted list and still in danger of dog napping!

The reality is Jack has found his forever home and we all love him to pieces. He fits this family like a glove and we love to see him smile and wag his whole body so enthusiastically. It will be our great pleasure to see this dog develop into a happy, well socialized dog.

Tim swears he will be a ball dog if he has anything to say about it and you never know, he just might!

With Love and our MANY thanks!
