More information on agility
What is agility?
Agility is an exciting sport that can be performed in competition or just for fun. It consists of a variety of obstacles that the dog and handler must navigate in the designated order and the fastest time possible. Agility at its finest requires a great bond between the dog and handler, focus, athleticism, energy and concentration.
What classes do you offer?
We offer several types of classes. Our regular agility classes focus on all of the obstacles and are usually 8 weeks. Our specialty classes focus on a particular peice of equipment or a special technique and are usually 3 or 4 weeks. We will also be offering clinics with experienced handlers. Please check back as we make that information available. If you have an instructor you would like to see come to this area, please let me know.

What to bring to class?
Please make sure you wear sneakers (no sandals), and that you carry with you high value treats, a high value toy, your dog wears a flat collar, a six foot leash, and that you have a crate or tie out (many stores with pet departments have great pop-up crates) for the human training time.
Are there discounts?
We do offer discounts to participants with multiple dogs in more than one class. Please ask for more information.
How many teams are permitted in the class?
A class will have a maximum of 8 teams. In order for a class to run, there must be at least 3 teams enrolled before the start date or the class will be canceled. A team consists of one dog and one human participant.
How do these classes benefit the Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue (MABCR)?
A portion of the proceeds of each class will go to Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue. Thank you for supporting homeless dogs in the Mid-Atlantic region by registering for one of these classes.
